Guillemots - Through The Windowpane

Just a quick note to say that while I’m planning to wait til its release to listen myself (unless they put it off forever like Final Fantasy – current release date for his album next week but don’t hold out not much hope on that), Through The Windowpane has leaked. I’m sure some of you know how to find it much better than me anyway.

And since nowhere else seems to have it yet, here’s the tracklisting:

  • “Little Bear”
  • “Made Up Love Song #43”
  • “Trains To Brazil”
  • “Redwings”
  • “A Samba In The Snowy Rain” (which was previously the first half of…)
  • “Through The Windowpane”
  • “If The World Ends”
  • “We’re Here”
  • “Blue Would Still Be Blue”
  • “Annie, Why Wait?”
  • “And If All…”
  • “Sao Paolo” (all near twelve minutes of it, oh yes!)

On a totally unrelated note I’m just hearing Jim Noir’s “Eanie Meanie” on the radio and it’s very nice, but it’s practically “Ask Me How I Am” by Snow Patrol, isn’t it? Or is it just me?

Best british album of the decade, so far. It's amazing...

No Cats' Eyes? That song is genius.

I won't be so controversial as to say it's "better than Love Song", but it is just as good.

Agreed! With the lack of Who Left The Lights Off Baby as well I guess they just wanted as much new (or so far unreleased) stuff as possible maybe

Just a quick note to say that the new guillemots album is the biggest disappointment of the year so far. 3 good tune on it. And the one where he is just singing over an electric keyboard/piano is by far the most excruciating 5 minutes i've ever sat through. could and should have been so much better.

the album is...FANTASTIC!!
It is different from the EP.
It's darker and more restrained.

Give it some time and you will love it!

São Paulo is, probably, the best song ever commited to tape...
